OQI Applications Lead Catherine Lefebvre visited UN Habitat in Mexico City from 31 March-4 April — exploring collaboration on OQI’s Water Leak Detection use case, and water management proposals for sustainable water loss reduction.
Water Leak Detection focuses on a quantum machine learning solution to optimally position sensors and detect water leaks in urban water systems — addressing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 6 (clean water and sanitation), 9 (industry, innovation and infrastructure), and 11 (sustainable cities and communities).
During the visit, there was also the opportunity to engage with experts from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), to further explore capacity building in quantum computing.
