Bringing quantum to life with LEGO4QUANTUM
21st March 2025

OQI’s Applications Expert, Philipp Kammerlander, is one of the judges for the LEGO4QUANTUM competition, a global initiative designed to encourage students to participate in the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ).
As a member of the competition’s jury, Philipp will leverage his expertise in quantum computing to evaluate three-minute videos submitted by students. These pitches will showcase creative ways to use LEGO and Augmented Reality (AR) to illustrate the quantum mechanics that underlies quantum computing—such as entanglement, superposition and quantum optics.
The top entry will win a fully funded trip to Geneva to take part in the SDG Summer School in July and will have the opportunity to present their idea at the Fab25 conference in Prague.
How Can You Participate?
To enter, create a three-minute video demonstrating how AR and LEGO can be used to explain quantum science.
The submission deadline is 31st March 2025 and the winners will be announced on World Quantum Day (14th April 2025).
