Not Art, Not Quantum (NANQ) is a prototype designed to explore the intersection of quantum science, art, and gaming. Organised and created by the Malaysian Quantum Information Initiative (mQI), a workshop held at the Telekom Muzium, Kuala Lumpur on 16th November explored an innovative art-science approach for engaging with quantum technologies.
Participants were given a demonstration of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer, showcasing the wave and particle properties of light, followed by a quantum eraser experiment exploring quantum entanglement. There was also the opportunity for participants to get hands-on and create their own artworks that would be revealed under a polariscope.
The workshop also featured several game prototypes currently being developed–bridging creativity with quantum theory. mQI encourages any interested collaborators to get in touch and help develop digital versions of the games and to support hosting future versions.
